What our Customers say
GasCheck G
“We found out about Ion Science by doing a search on ‘Google’ for ‘sf6 gas leak detector’. This is where we came across the GasChack G and which led us to their South African Distributor, Impact Instruments. We chose to go ahead and purchase this instrument as our customer evaluated it to have the best price vs performance ratio compared to other competitor products we offered them that performs the same function. The device will be used at a substation switchgear for gas leak detection.”
Rudolph du Plessis, Technical Sales Consultant, Central Technical Supplies

PhoCheck Tiger
“We bought a PhoCheck Tiger from Ion Science and we love how easy it is to clean the filter – it’s quick to do and can be done in the field – probably the best PID I’ve ever used! Customer Service is always polite, and very fast at getting back to you and are always helpful – they go above and beyond to help us out. The battery on the Tiger is also great. It’s fast to recharge and lasts a couple of days out in the field – buying disposable batteries was always a pain. Ion Science’s PIDs don’t seem to be effected by the heat, humidity or the cold. They are definitely what I prefer to use during my shift.”
Stephanie Feuer, Environmental Scientist, Ross Environmental
PhoCheck Tiger
“We bought Ion Science’s PhoCheck Tiger through their Danish distributor – Duotec – who we will go to if we require any service needs as they are an Authorised Service Centre for this instrument. We like how the instrument is easy to operate, and that it reacts very quickly. We may have only had the instrument for 6 months – but we are extremely happy with the results.”
Bjarne Vig, Electronic Engineer, Solae Denmark A/S
GasCheck G3
“We have bought several GasCheck G3 units from Ion Science and are really happy with how reliable the ppm readings are – customers find the instrument easy to use. The customer service received from Ion Science is excellent, and so is the company overall. We chose to stay with Ion Science due to the years of good service and how reliable their instrument range is.”

GasCheck G3
“We recently purchased an Ion Science GasCheck G3 through their UK distributor Shawcity Ltd. The product is to be used for leak detection on pressurised sealed enclosures, as well as during installation of various gas cylinders to ensure that there are no leaks around the regulator fittings. The gases being detected include argon, helium and nitrogen. We chose to purchase this product as the instrument performs to the high levels of sensitivity our applications demand. Furthermore, the instrument is extremely simple and intuitive to use, so training is not required to understand the results. We found out about the GasCheck G3 by searching on Google ‘Argon leak detection equipment.
I have found the GasCheck G to be simple and intuitive to use. The pre-sales service received was excellent and so was the company overall. I was provided with detailed, technical information when I first contacted Ion Science and was then passed to a local distributor. We were then able to demonstrate how the instrument performed in our application, which led to us making the purchase.”
Geoff Martin, Camera Systems Engineer, Andor Technology Plc

Hydrosteel 7000
“We purchased a Hydrosteel 7000 for the permeation of hydrogen in sour service corrosion testing and research. Hydrosteel 7000 was our instrument of choice due to it being at such a highly technical and scientific level, whilst being extremely easy to use compared with other methods available”.
Adam Rubin, Laboratory Manager, NKT Flexibles
PhoCheck Tiger
"We were looking for a reliable PID to be used for soil screening, indoor air quality and vapour intrusion applications. We already had an Ion Science PhoCheck+ which we continue to use and rely on daily for accurate field screening. We came across the upgraded PhoCheck Tiger after the recent floods that took place in Vermont from the effects of Hurricane Irene and Ion Science kindly let us try out the Tiger which our Technical Field expert really liked using! Because of Ion Science’s outstanding service and quality products, we decided to purchase the PhoCheck Tiger.”

Ion Science Mercury Vapour Indicator (MVI)
“We rely on the Ion Science MVI with our life and the health and safety of those around us, in the extreme heat of the Middle East deserts, in the tropics of Asia, the chilling Bass Strait of Southern Australia and in extremely high levels of mercury vapour. The units must work every time, must be 100% accurate and they must be able to cope with the inevitable knocks and falls of hard use and tough environments. The MVI does that all day, every day, and has not let us down.”
The Ion Science MVI offers distinct advantages over alternative technologies: “We prefer the Ion Science MVI as there is no need to stop the analyser for servicing or regeneration in the middle of the day. When you are in high mercury contaminated environments the MVI does not get saturated and I don’t have to stop what I am doing to regenerate the sensors, as you do with other brands. You have no idea how frustrating it is when you are on top of a 30 meter high column and your analyser decides that it is saturated, won’t work, and has to be regenerated!”
The speed with which the Ion Science MVI is ready to work is another benefit for No Heat Resources. “The unit is also ready to go in 4 minutes,” says Crowe. “I can turn it on as I enter the plant and it is ready to use by the time I get to the vessel. There is no need for long set up times at the start of each shift.”
No Heat Resources are also impressed by the fast response time of the MVI. “Once it is on then it is on,” he says. “I don’t need to take a 10 second sample of air and wait for a response, or continually zero the machine as it works continuously – and is the only portable mercury analyser that does. I can place the MVI on a location and know that if the mercury rises above 25µg/m3 then it will alert me. This is an excellent feature as I don’t need someone holding it to continually take readings to know what the levels are.”
“MVI is extremely accurate detecting mercury vapours down to 0.1µg/m3. It has two settings which we need when dealing in extremely contaminated vessels. In addition, the light weight of the unit makes it perfect for our workers who are carrying these analysers all day up and down ladders and over obstacles. They want something light weight and easy to carry.”
“The battery lasts a good 10 hour shift and can be plugged in and fully charged overnight, ready again for another 10 hour shift. This means that fewer analysers are needed on site – which means less capital outlay. In addition, the units are simple to use and I can train people who have never held an analyser to use them in just 10 minutes.”
“To add to this the Ion Science MVI is about half the price of the next cheapest model on the market. There is no reason to spend more than double the amount to buy an inferior product. Purchasing the MVI makes sense in every way.”
“We were impressed with these units from the start and would happily recommend them. We’d also be happy to be contacted by anyone regarding our experiences using the instrument and answer any questions.”
Ryan Crowe, Director from No Heat Resources Pte Ltd, Singapore.
GasClam Ground Gas Monitor
"Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has been
utilising a GasClam in a number of Part IIA site investigations where ground
gas has been identified as a key risk driver. High quality, reliable,
continuous data obtained alongside traditional ‘spot sampling’ provided greater
insight into the gas regime of the site and served to reduce uncertainty whilst
increasing confidence in the overall conclusions drawn from the data. This in
turn reduced the monitoring period required and time and financial savings to
be made"
Bo Simkin, Contaminated
Land Officer, Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council
