How to detect Biphenyl

Formula: C12H10 | CAS: 92-52-4

Synonyms: 1,1'-biphenyl, diphenyl, xenene, bibenzene, phenyl benzene, 1,1'-biphenyl, phenylbenzene, xenene, 1,1'-diphenyl, phenador-x, tetrosin ly, carolid al, phph, 1,1-biphenyl, bnl, biphenyl, 1,1-, meta biphenyl, bi-phenyl, distilled hydrodealkylized toluene, 4,4'-biphenyl, 1,1''-biphenyl, 1, 1'-diphenyl

Biphenyl, which occurs naturally in crude oil, is used in the manufacture of diverse chemicals such as paint emulsifiers, plastics and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). It is used as a heat transfer reagent. It impeded fungal growth and is therefore used as a fungicide.
