ION Science Inc, is showing a range of advanced photoionisation detectors (PIDs) at the Oil & Gas Environment Conference (OGENV).
Specially developed for measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the oil & gas industry, the Falco fixed continuous PID, Tiger handheld PID and Cub personal PID will be on display at the event in Dallas, Texas. The TigerLT is a streamlined, low cost version of the Tiger instrument. The entry-level PID also offers worldwide intrinsically safe certification for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and is ideal for environmental surveys.
Another handheld gas detector, the Tiger Select boasts two mode operation for the rapid and accurate detection of benzene and total aromatic compounds (TACs). Utilising the high output Ion Science 10.0eV monitoring system, a reading for TACs is seen immediately on start-up. Should TACs be detected, a pre-filter tube can be easily attached to ensure rapid detection and selective measurement of benzene.
Ion Science’s Cub is the world’s smallest and lightest personal PID. With market-leading ppb sensitivity and a 10.6eV lamp, Cub sets the standard in personal VOC monitoring and features an audible, vibrating and flashing LED alarm designed to give workers an early warning of exposure to hazardous gases. With a dynamic range of 0-5000ppm, Cub sits within the breathing zone and is comfortable and unobtrusive to wear.
Alternatively, the CubTAC model is a personal PID for the fast, accurate detection of TACs, including benzene. It has a 10.0eV lamp utilising a special light filtering technology to give a reliable TAC concentration.
